Meet the Team!
At National Harbor Marina, our team is at the heart of everything we do—providing exceptional service, creating a welcoming atmosphere, and ensuring every boater has an unforgettable experience. To help you get to know the faces behind the marina, we sat down with our General Manager, Molly Steen to talk about her journey in the boating industry, favorite local spots, and what makes National Harbor Marina such a special place to dock.

- Where are you from? I grew up on Kent Island, MD where I developed a love for the water and boating industry early on – it’s in my blood!
- How did you first get into the marine industry? I started out as a dock hand at a local marina on Kent Island which jump started my career into the industry. I loved being around boats and meeting new people, which led me to pursue a career within the industry.
- What brought you to National Harbor? I always heard great things about National Harbor so when Latitude Marinas reached out to me about leading the team here, I jumped at the opportunity.
- What is your favorite boating spot or experience? My favorite place to boat is obviously the Chesapeake Bay! During the summer I try to get out on the boat with my dad to fish at least once a week. It is one of my favorite things to do.
- What’s a typical day like for you at the marina? One thing I love about this industry is that no day is like the last, but my days typically start with opening the fuel dock, making note of any arrivals or departures, and walking the docks, greeting boaters and ensuring that all vessels are secure.
- What’s one thing boaters might not know about National Harbor Marina that they should? One thing boaters might not know is the number of events that go in within the harbor. The marina can be a great opportunity for you to bring your boat and stay during these events whether it’s a convention at the Gaylord Hotel or a show at MGM.
- What’s your go-to recommendation for a perfect day in National Harbor after docking? The perfect day to me at National Harbor would be going for a meal at The Walrus and then going for a ride, taking a look in the boutiques, and then finishing off the evening with a ride on the Capital Wheel at sunset.
- If you had to describe the marina in three words, what would they be? I would describe National Harbor as friendly, relaxing, and unique.
- What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone docking at National Harbor Marina for the first time? One piece of advice for first time boaters here is to not hesitate to ask for advice, recommendations, or service. The team is well versed in the happenings at National Harbor and are ready to assist in any way to help provide an exceptional experience!
- What excites you most about the future of the marina and boating in this area? National Harbor Marina has a great opportunity for growth with it being in such a unique and lively location full of great restaurants, activities, and shops. The Potomac River has always been a popular boating location, but our goal is to make National Harbor Marina a “must visit” location for those cruising the Potomac.
